Bill Harris, the former CEO of PayPal and Intuit, launched Evergreen.ai on September 21, 2026, a free AI-powered financial planning app. The launch announcement says the app is offered by Evergreen Wealth Advisors, a Registered Investment Adviser and fiduciary.

What changed

Evergreen.ai combines a conversational AI layer with what the company calls a deterministic calculation engine: rules-based software that runs the tax and financial math, rather than leaving a language model to estimate numbers. The announcement describes it as pairing “probabilistic Large Language Models (LLMs) that excel at communication, with deterministic software that runs the actual calculations and grounds each answer in current financial and tax knowledge.”

The app covers retirement projections, equity compensation (options, RSUs, QSBS), net worth tracking, home ownership calculators, 401(k)/IRA and Roth conversion guidance, college savings, and tax strategies like loss harvesting and charitable giving. Accounts link through Plaid. Registering during the beta gives free access through January 1, 2028.

What it means for you

Evergreen.ai is free software, not free advice from a human adviser, and it operates under the RIA registration of an affiliated advisory firm rather than as a substitute for one. Its Plaid-based linking works like other apps in this category, meaning it can see your balances and transactions once connected. Our Evergreen.ai review covers its features and disclosures, and our comparison of AI personal finance assistants shows how it stacks up against competitors.
