Anthropic released Claude for Financial Advisors on September 14, 2026, a package of connectors and ready-made workflows aimed at the administrative side of wealth management. Anthropic’s announcement says the goal is to cut the time advisors spend on paperwork so they can spend more of it with clients.

What changed

The launch combines two things, according to Anthropic:

Workflow skills for advisor onboarding, alternative investment briefs, compliance and AI policy review, estate and tax briefs, portfolio rebalance review, pre-meeting prep, post-meeting notes and follow-up, and prospect intake.

Connectors to the systems advisors already use, including Charles Schwab, Vanguard, BlackRock, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, SS&C Black Diamond, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks, alongside existing integrations such as Salesforce, DocuSign, Microsoft 365, FactSet and Morningstar.

Anthropic recommends Enterprise plans for registered investment advisers, and the package appears in the Claude Cowork plugin browser. Firms that request new licenses before the end of September 2026 get a one-time usage credit. Yahoo Finance’s coverage adds that the plugin itself is free, with usage billed separately.

Anthropic also states that “investment recommendations, client communications, compliance determinations, and other regulated activities remain subject to human review and approval.” The compliance skill screens language against the SEC Marketing Rule.

What it means for you

This is a tool for advisory firms, not for consumers. You can’t sign up for it to manage your own portfolio.

If you work with an advisor, it may still touch your money indirectly. Meeting notes, rebalance proposals and estate summaries could increasingly be drafted by AI and then reviewed by a person. Reasonable questions to ask your advisor:

  • Does the firm use AI tools on client data, and which ones?
  • Who reviews AI-drafted recommendations before they reach you?
  • What data leaves the firm’s systems, and under what agreement?
